Toss it? No way. Bring it to the
Repair Café!
Sustainable Putnam holds Repair Café events on the second Saturday of
March, June, September, and December, from 10:30am – 1:30pm.
The Mahopac Repair Café is held quarterly at the Mahopac Middle School.
What is a Repair Café?
A Repair Café is an event where residents can bring various household goods that need repair. They are organized and staffed with Sustainable Putnam volunteers who enjoy fixing things and helping others. Repairs are performed for free. If necessary parts are available, they are sold at cost.
How does it work?
You’ll be checked in at the reception table as you enter the Middle School Cafeteria, and directed to the appropriate Repair Coach. Repair guests assist the “Repair Coach”, learning about maintenance and repairs as the work is completed. Free beverages, and learn about repairs with the help of an expert Repair Coach.

How can I help out?
There are two main types of volunteers we need to make our Repair Cafés happen. We need General Volunteers to help set up, check in guests, and serve refreshments. We also need Repair Coaches — volunteers who do the mending and fixing of household items.
If you’re interested in general volunteering at Repair Cafés and/or other events, complete the General Volunteer Interest Form below.
If you like to fix stuff or want to learn by working with other repair coaches, complete the Repair Café Volunteer Application below.
